Three things worth doing today, drawn from this morning's edition.

Don't panic on the pound. The markets barely flinched at the resignation — it was long expected and is being handled in order — so if you're changing holiday money or weighing a remortgage, take your time and your quotes. There's no fire to sell into.

Read the odds as weather, not fact. One bet on the Prime Minister just settled this morning; a new one, the leadership contest, opens on 9 July. Glance at it if you like — then put your attention on the policy underneath, which is the only part of this you get a vote on.

Ask one question of every contender. As nominations open, listen for whether anyone names the work that's actually going — not just the borders and the North Sea. It's the test the whole week keeps failing.
