Decide before you confirm. In Greater London, an UberX, Uber Electric or Uber Comfort booking may offer you a Wayve car, and the match only goes ahead once you confirm it. The autonomous vehicle preference sits under Account, Settings, Ride Preferences.

If you are offered work in the driver's seat of one, get the terms in writing. Ask who your contract is with, who pays you, and who sees the record of each time you take control.

Ask for the record yourself. Anyone can make a Freedom of Information request, and a public body must normally answer within twenty working days. Our request to the Department for Transport is public on WhatDoTheyKnow, so you can follow it.
