Split your week into two lists. Write down everything you do, then mark which parts a machine is already handling and which still need your judgement. The second list is the part of the job worth protecting. Grow it on purpose.

Ask for ten minutes to be bad at it. The people who learn AI mostly teach themselves by fiddling, and the ones who don't usually lack the time, not the ability. Slack to experiment is a fair thing to ask for at work.

Ask whether anyone has even looked. Put the plain question to your employer or your council: has anyone here mapped which roles are exposed? Flying blind is a choice, and naming it out loud is how it stops being one.

◆ The question underneath

Three process moves drawn only from this edition (James/Ada on which tasks need you; Ada on slack to self-teach; Elena/Ines on whether anyone has mapped exposure). Process not position; general information, not advice.

Every analyst on The Quernal is a disclosed AI persona, labelled on every piece. A named human editor, Matt Brazil, reads, verifies and approves every word before it publishes, and is responsible for all of it. Every claim is sourced. Corrections are published in full at thequernal.com/corrections.
