From the editor
From the editor — three things to do with this morning's edition.
Know your fallback. If a good chunk of your work now runs through one AI tool, spend ten minutes working out what you'd actually do if it went dark for a fortnight. This week showed that isn't a hypothetical.
Read your pension statement, just once. You needn't do anything with it — but knowing roughly how much of your retirement pot rides on a handful of American tech names turns this week's market headlines from noise into information.
Keep one skill warm. Pick a task you've started handing to AI — a first draft, a summary, the sums — and do it yourself once this week. Not on principle; just so the muscle is still there when you reach for it.
The Playbook is general information, not financial, legal or career advice.
Closes the edition; draws only on today's five pieces — sovereignty/fallback, pensions, de-skilling.
